
Mike Solinas, the Web Wanderer, and friend
Mike Solinas, the "O'Donnell on
Computers" Web Wanderer, is originally from Oradell, New Jersey. He left the East
Coast at his first opportunity, heading to the University of California, Berkeley to earn
an BA in Mathematics. While at Berkeley, Mike developed an interested in "applied
statistics." After graduation, ran to Reno to join a professional blackjack team, and
he played as a professional card counter for a year. He has co-authored a number of works
on the mathematics of blackjack--all under a pseudonym. After his stint in Reno, he
returned to the Bay Area, married his sweetheart Lisa, and entered the field of
semiconductors as a Quality Assurance professional.
On weekdays, Mike works for Silicon Storage Technology as Customer Support
Manager. On Saturdays Mike provides the Web Wanderer
Reports for O'Donnell On Computers, and has done so since June, 1996. His other
interests include stage magic, antiques (especially vintage watches and Maxfield Parrish
prints), exotic birds, and searching the Internet for interesting new stuff.
