Kids' software expert Tim McCarthy, who founded
the "Reading, Rhythm and ROM" retail
store along with his wife Patty, didn't come into his profession by happenstance. After
fruitlessly searching for software for their own children, a daughter Caitlin, and son
Devin, the McCarthys decided the time was right to fulfill their dream of owning their
own business. So, in October of 1994 they opened a store in downtown Petaluma. After
several successful years of selling top-notch kid's games, they closed down the retail
operation, but Tim still maintains an active interest in kids software and continues on
with his own personal consulting business.
