Dr. ROM, Mrs. ROM and Jack, the micro-ROM
Dr. ROM (who goes by the name of Rick Alber in
the real world) is a reformed attorney who wandered off The Farm in the '70s, practiced
some law and then got involved with some Silicon Valley startups in the '80s, digressed
into pen computing in the early '90s, and then got the Internet bug a couple of years ago.
To make himself useful he created the popular Ask Dr.
Science website. When not reviewing products for O'Donnell on
Computers, Dr. ROM develops products for BuildPoint,
an online construction industry service provider.
