The winners of the 2000 Computer Press
Awards, a prestigious, nation-wide competition sponsored by the Computer
Press Association, were recently announced and I'm very pleased to
report that "O'Donnell on Computers" was
selected as Best Overall Audio Show. The category was open to both
traditional over-the-air radio broadcasts as well as any web-based audio
programs.
The judges for the contest, which is now
in its 15th year, described the program as: "An all-around show that
serves a wide audience well. Adding e-mail and live chat to the call-in
format brings true interactivity to radio."
According to the CPA web site, "The
Computer Press Awards recognize excellence in the coverage of computing
issues in print, broadcast, and online media. The awards are conducted by
the Computer Press Association in cooperation with the Medill School of
Journalism at Northwestern University."
